Our Process

Here’s how we make old furniture feel brand new again:

  1. Reach Out – Send me photos and a short description of your piece (use the inquiry form below).

  2. Estimate – I’ll provide a ballpark quote based on size, condition, and material needs.

  3. Fabric Selection – Choose from my curated collection or bring your own—we’ll chat about what works best.

  4. Booking & Deposit – A $500 deposit saves your spot in the lineup and goes toward the final balance.

  5. Restoration Begins – I’ll tear it down, rebuild what’s needed, and reupholster it with care.

Pick-Up / Delivery – Once your piece is done, you’ll have an heirloom-ready for another generation of use.

    Shop Policies

    Scheduling and Deposits:

To reserve a spot in the schedule, a deposit of $500 is required, which will be deducted from the total fabric and foam costs for your project. If these costs exceed $500, an additional deposit will be requested. Deposits are non-refundable once products have been ordered and cannot be returned.

    Payment and Changes:

Final payment is due before the final product is delivered or picked up. Approval of quotes must be received before projects commence, and any changes to the scope of work must be documented in writing and may result in additional charges.

    Customer-Owned Fabric (COM):

If you provide your own fabric, we reserve the right to decline its use if it is not suitable for upholstery. We cannot guarantee the quality of externally purchased fabric or handle any warranty issues.

    Fabric Handling:

Unless salvage is requested before work begins, old fabric will be removed and discarded.

    Shipping & Duty:

All shipping and duty fees for fabric will be passed onto client, this fee is unknown until later in the project.

    Warranty and Repairs:

Blue Dog Fabric Designs take great pride in their work and appreciate your business. I am happy to address any shortcomings within the first 3 months, not including general wear and tear or misuse. Repairs beyond this timeframe will be taken at our discretion and may incur labor costs.

    Furniture Maintenance:

Furniture with exposed woodwork will be polished, and scratch cover will be applied as needed.

    Shop Charges:

A shop charge of $50 per chair, (does not apply to dining chairs) $75 for loveseat or settee, $100 per sofa is included in your estimate. This charge covers zippers (not more than 5 yards), thread, cambric, burlap, seat deck fabric, Dacron (when less than 5 yards), welting cord, ply grip, tack strips, staples, screws, furniture polish, scratch cover, spray glue and trim glue. Any materials not listed such as foam or fabric are priced separately and are not included in the shop charge. Any major wood repairs are charged separately based on time spent. These will be communicated before work commences.
